Hampshire 2050 and Children’s Services are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person to join its Strategic Development Team.
As a Strategic Development Officer, you will lead on the sufficiency of school places across specific areas of Hampshire. You will develop strategies for implementation and manage schemes within the Children’s Services capital programme costed at £210m over the next three years.
The programme delivers new schools, school expansions and SEN provision, along with investment in the children’s social care and early years sectors. Understanding population growth and local housing plans together with negotiating education contributions from housing developers are key elements of this varied role.
Applicants should be confident in using and interpreting data and have a keen interest in project management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as proficiency with relevant IT. This role provides an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to have a real impact on the educational experience and life chances of children in Hampshire.
