Job Title: Setting Out Engineer

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects. You will be responsible for setting out, levelling, and surveying sites, as well as ensuring accurate, detailed work is delivered in line with contract specifications. The ideal candidate will possess technical proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and set out sites according to provided drawings and information.
• Prepare and deliver as-built drawings and documentation.
• Provide calculations related to quantities, temporary works, and statutory authority requirements.
• Manage survey equipment and plot information from survey instruments.
• Conduct pre-commencement and completion surveys.
• Maintain control of on-site drawings and manage the drawing register.
• Identify and communicate design errors, collaborating with designers to resolve any issues prior to implementation.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Qualifications:

  • HNC in Civil Engineering and a minimum of two years of experience as an Assistant Engineer.
  • Enka or similar qualification in setting out.
  • CSCS Professional/Manager s Card.
  • PTS certificate and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test (if working within the Rail Division).

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in setting out and surveying techniques.
  • Experience with CAD software for site layout and design.
  • Strong IT and supervisory skills.

• Other Skills:

  • Problem-solving abilities, especially concerning traffic management and design issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
