Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pmFriday: 8:00 am – 3:30 pmHalf-hour lunch break

We are currently seeking a Skilled Roofer to join our dynamic Trades team based in Manchester.

Main Responsibilities of Roofer:

• Service and Repair: Perform maintenance, service, and repair work on various types of flat and pitched roofing.
• Roof Installation: Renew complete new flat or pitched roofs as needed.
• Lead Work: Replace and repair lead work, including installing gas sleeves.
• Chimney Work: Carry out repointing and rendering of chimneys.
• Rafter Work: Cut in rafters as required during roofing projects.
• Fascia and Soffits: Replace fascia and soffits as part of roofing projects.
• Brickwork: Renew brickwork and carry out repointing on gable ends.
• Problem Assessment: Assess roofing problems, interpret complex information related to various roofing systems, and decide appropriate measures to correct faults without delays.
• Analytical Skills: Utilize analytical and judgmental skills in problem-solving related to roofing issues.
• Scaffolding: Order scaffolding as needed and discuss design/layout on-site when required.
• Collaboration: Assist and advise maintenance surveyors in analyzing roofing faults.
• Experience and Qualifications:
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or similar experience in roofing.
• Modern Apprenticeship: Completion of a modern apprenticeship or a form of craft apprenticeship.
• Sound Working Experience: Proven working experience in domestic maintenance.
• Heights: Ability to work at heights safely.
