Job Title: Roofing Quantity Surveyor

Location: East London/Essex

Salary: Up to 65,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in roofing to join our dynamic team based in East London/Essex. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record of managing and delivering roofing projects within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Cost Management:

  Prepare, manage, and control budgets for roofing projects. Conduct cost analysis and financial forecasts. Monitor project expenditures and identify variances.

• Contract Management:

  Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare and review contract documents. Ensure all contracts are executed according to company policies and legal requirements.

• Tendering and Estimating:

  Prepare detailed bills of quantities and pricing documents. Assess and evaluate tenders and proposals. Provide accurate cost estimates for potential projects.

• Site Visits and Assessments:

  Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality. Measure and value work done on-site. Liaise with site managers and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.

• Risk Management:

  Identify and assess project risks. implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues.

• Reporting:

  Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management. Maintain accurate records of project documentation and correspondence.

• Client Liaison:

  Build and maintain strong relationships with clients Address client queries and provide regular updates on project status.

Requirements:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the roofing industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction and roofing materials, methods, and processes.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and QS software.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites across East London and Essex.
