Kier Construction have another great quantity surveying opportunity in the North West region! We are seeking an experienced quantity surveyor to join our team delivering a £100M MOJ facility in Lancaster. Working on a major build scheme the Quantity Surveyor role presents the opportunity to play a key part in delivering flagship works for the region. Our Construction business has a strong foothold in the North West offering regional stability and development .

Location: Lancaster, Manchester

Contract: Full Time Permanent

What will you be responsible for?

As Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in a wide range of commercial duties to assist in the management and mitigation of cost and risk of the project, enhance value for money and ensure adherence to the required legal standards and quality under the specific agreed contract conditions.

Your day to day will include:

• Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
• Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
• Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
• Managing applications for payment from sub contractors
• Preparation of applications for payment to clients.
• Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
• Preparation of final accounts
• Managing team workloads
• Checking and collating commercial information from team

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you can demonstrate:

• Relevant academic qualification – Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
• Relevant experience working within teams delivering high value commercial construction projects
• Tier 1 Main Contracting Experience
• Strong knowledge of working under NEC / JCT Contract Conditions
