Are you an experienced Building Surveyor – living in East/North London. This Building Surveyor role involves leading and managing property investment, service & inspection, and repairs for 20-40 locations within a Social housing portfolio, with budget responsibilities up to 2.5m, ensuring timely service delivery, property maintenance, and contract management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage property investment, service & inspection, and repairs for a designated portfolio.
• Ensure all properties meet the property strategy targets and are maintained in good condition.
• Budget management up to 2.5m.
• Undertake regular property inspections and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Collaborate with contractors and the Strategic Partnership Team to identify cost savings and deliver robust forecasts.
• Engage effectively with housing/care operations teams to ensure smooth and timely project execution.

Skill set:

• Extensive knowledge of building pathology and remediation actions.
• Strong project management skills in investment, compliance services, and reactive maintenance.
• Excellent planning, organising, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to constructively challenge and influence senior stakeholders while maintaining professional relationships.
• Resilient and able to work well under pressure, with a focus on creative and pragmatic problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing property activities in Social housing housing, particularly within housing maintenance repairs or planned works.
• Proven experience interpreting operational data to inform service delivery planning.
• Significant experience in building pathology within a housing environment.
• Degree in building surveying or construction related qualification.
• Working towards MRICS or MCIOB status is desirable.
