Instrument Technician (6-Month Contract)
Waste-to-Energy Project Bristol (BS10)
Start Monday Rate: 28.00 – 35.00 per hour (CIS/Ltd, depending on experience)

Work for a leading engineering and industrial services contractor delivering works on a major Waste-to-Energy facility in Bristol.

They are looking for an experienced Instrument Tech to join the project on an initial 6-month assignment, supporting installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance activities across critical plant instrumentation and control systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project within a modern process plant environment.

Duties

• Installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment
• Calibration of pressure, flow, temperature and level instruments
• Loop checking and functional testing
• Fault finding on instrumentation and control systems
• Supporting commissioning and plant start-up activities
• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop drawings and schematics
• Assisting with planned maintenance and shutdown activities
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Instrument Technician within an industrial environment
• Strong instrumentation, calibration and commissioning experience
• Experience working on power generation, energy-from-waste, biomass, petrochemical, chemical, water treatment or process plant projects
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control documentation
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and industrial process equipment
• Relevant electrical or instrumentation qualifications

• CCNSG Safety Passport
• Previous commissioning experience on large industrial projects

Please note: This role is suited to candidates with previous industrial instrumentation experience. Those from power, process, energy, petrochemical, water or similar heavy industrial environments will be particularly well suited.
