A new role has become available for a Southwest based, Fabrication Company who are a highly respected architectural metal-work and bespoke steel fabrication specialist.

Graduate/Trainee Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Contracts & Estimating team.

As a forward-thinking individual who is willing to progress and might have started their career by gaining or working towards the relevant BTEC HNC or Degree level qualification in Construction Quantity Surveying.

Role description:

As a Graduate you will be given full training and report to the Estimating Director. You will be working with the estimating and contracts team producing accurate quotations and negotiating tenders with our clients. You will also be working closely with the contracts and design department at both pre-submission and post order stage and through to contract completion.

Responsibilities include training & assisting with the following.

• Estimating architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork & structural steel
• Reading architects and engineers drawings
• Material takes offs and tender summaries
• Obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating
• Preparing quotations.
• Drafting detailed quotations
• Liaising with clients to discuss the tender submissions
• Quantifying material take offs and producing costs analysis for client approvals
• Monthly job costing forecasts and analysis
• Attending client meetings and occasional site visits with Contracts lead
• Working with other departments
