We’re looking for a General Foreman to join our Regional Civils team based in Cornwall.

Location: Cornwall – Site Based

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: up to 56k depending on experience

What will you be responsible for?

As a General Foreman, you’ll be working within the Regional Civils team, supporting them in delivering numerous civils projects on the Southwest Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework where Kier is acting as the Principal Contractor. Working in conjunction with the Site Team to ensure Earthworks, Concrete works and Drainage works are carried out accurately and that quality is maintained; records are kept; abortive or defective work is avoided, and that satisfactory progress is achieved.

Your day to day will include:

• Deliver work packages to agreed programmes and liaise with operational delivery teams.
• Attendance at regular meetings to ensure clear communication channels are in place, to report on progress; identify problems and any keep records of any variations to the scope of works both internally and externally.
• Focus on Health and Safety, making sure all risk assessments are completed and submitted and that all works are carried out in accordance with Kier’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Oversee the co-ordination of operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers in your section of works in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs.
• Ensure the project is safely delivered on time, to budget and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

• CSCS Gold Card and SMSTS
• First Aid Training and Health and Safety awareness
• An awareness of commercial and temporary works
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Previous experience managing a small team
