As the Environment and Community Liaison Manager, you will ensure that the organisation is compliant with UK Environmental legislation, managing and measuring waste and greenhouse gases as well as minimising the environmental impact. The position also fosters community relationships for the benefit of projects executed in the UK.

Description

As the Environment and Community Liaison Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

• Monitor the waste provider’s compliance and ensure our waste is correctly recorded
• Provide accurate information to the Group to enable the preparation of the UK annual report environment section
• Review, evaluate and report to the Environmental Agency, the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)
• Regularly update Client environment and sustainability software on the amounts of waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) and Carbon footprint amongst others
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with Clients and the local communities to help and improve community relations and develop mutually beneficial programs
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections
• Follow up and close outstanding actions
• Provide input into policy and system procedural development in accordance with ISO standards
• Perform project specific environmental impact assessment, identifying environmentally friendly improvements
• Measure waste stream & carbon footprint and identify areas to reduce, reuse or recycle
• Develop and conduct environmental and awareness training

Profile

The successful Environment and Community Liaison Manager needs the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• Graduate in an Environmental discipline
• Practitioner of IEMA
• Minimum 2-3 year’s experience in a role in the sustainability/HSE fields
• Report Writing skills
• Planning and organisation skills
• Root cause analysis and investigation skills
• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint/Excel) skills
• Influencing skills
• Negotiation skills
• Collaboration skills
• Able to get into and around London for site visits and travel
