Ecommerce Platform Architect

One of the UK’s best known (and loved) entertainment providers requires a Ecommerce Platform Architect. The incumbent will develop and define technology strategy with specific focus on our digital customer and marketing platforms and solutions.

This is a senior, hands-on position spanning technology strategy, architecture and engineering, with responsibility for helping shape the future direction of web, apps, customer and marketing platforms.

You will work closely with product teams, technology leadership and strategic engineering partners to define architecture, establish engineering principles and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient and cloud-first.

Key experience:

• Degree in computer science, information technology, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
• An expert digital and customer technologist with proven experience working across omni-channel multi-cloud platforms in a fast-paced multi-site, international organisation ideally the retail, hospitality and leisure sector
• Strong experience in agile ways of working (Dev/SecOps) and continuous delivery through in-house engineering teams and/or third-party suppliers
• Experience of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
• Stay on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning new technologies especially within the digital and customer platform arenas
• Experience in the broader consumer commercial landscape, including how technology can enhance customer experience, operational efficiency and cost optimisation
• Ability to identify software or technology opportunities and drive the introduction of new tools and processes across teams and disciplines
• Strong background in digital and customer platform architecture
• Enterprise Sitecore experience (or other CMS), ideally including modern/headless implementations
• Strong understanding of modern web architecture and technologies such as .NET, React, Next.js
• Azure and cloud infrastructure experience
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD and engineering best-practice knowledge
• Experience working with and challenging third-party engineering partners and vendors
• Experience owning technical roadmaps and making architecture decisions
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate across senior leadership, product and engineering teams
• Ability to remain technically hands-on while operating at a strategic level

Location: London – 4 days onsite/1 day remote

Rate: £650 per day – Outside IR35

Duration: 6 month Contract (followed by extensions)
