Our client is a reputable interior design company specialising in highly bespoke interiors for commercial, residential and hospitality projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Design Manger with a background in architecture to join their team, and lead the design process for a diverse portfolio of projects.

Position Overview – Design Manager

• Lead the design management process for multiple projects, ensuring the successful integration of design activities within the construction process.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop and refine project design requirements.
• Oversee the creation and management of design briefs, design deliverables, and design programs.
• Review and assess design documents, including architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering plans, to ensure compliance with project objectives, building codes, and industry standards.
• Manage the design team and external design consultants, coordinating their efforts to achieve project milestones and deliver high-quality designs on time and within budget.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture, encouraging creative thinking, problem-solving, and value engineering to optimise project designs.
• Conduct regular design coordination meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment between stakeholders, resolving design-related issues and conflicts as they arise.
• Monitor and manage design changes, scope variations, and associated risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure clear communication and understanding of design expectations.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and construction.

Position Requirements – Design Manager

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry, preferably with experience managing large scale hospitality projects.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, building regulations, codes, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in design software and tools, such as BIM Platforms, Aconex and Project+.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to think strategically, identify design risks and opportunities, and propose innovative solutions.
• Knowledge of interior fit outs and finishing packages.
