My client is a tier 1 main contractor currently looking to add a Construction Manager to their team for the build of a brand new 500M data centre in the Docklands in East London.

The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate they have managed technical packages like piling, excavations, groundworks, substructure, drainage etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all civil works related to the project, including planning, execution, and completion.
• Coordinate with various teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project progress.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Monitor project timelines, costs, and quality to ensure adherence to project goals and milestones.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation on site to optimize efficiency and safety.
• Liaise with the client and maintain strong relationships to address any project concerns or requirements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager in heavy civil engineering, particularly on large scale steel framed buildings.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction techniques, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• Ability to work on-site full-time.
