Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Bid Writer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality, compliant and compelling tenders and proposals across public and private sector opportunities, coordinating internal stakeholders and ensuring submissions are delivered to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the preparation of tenders and proposals from qualification through to submission.
• Develop clear, persuasive and client-focused tender responses.
• Research and tailor existing content to meet individual client requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather accurate information.
• Manage bid plans, deadlines, actions and submission requirements.
• Review and quality-check bids to ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency.
• Maintain and develop a library of reusable bid content, case studies and supporting evidence.
• Review previous submissions and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct relevant market and competitor research to support bid positioning.
• Support wider business development, marketing and administrative activities as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree educated with a minimum 2:1 in a relevant subject.
• Proven experience supporting or leading tender applications and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Experience working across multiple teams and influencing without formal authority.
• Experience in social housing or the public sector is desirable.
• Tender portal experience is desirable.
• APMP qualification is desirable.
