A well respected, medium sized practice based in West London, synonymous with bespoke and luxury residential projects, is looking to recruit an Architectural Technician. The majority of their work is London based, prime and super prime residential single dwellings and consists of extensions, alterations or refurbishments of existing properties, although the occasional new build project will arise. Project values can range from 1M to 45M (and sometimes larger). Their clients have a high net worth and demand top quality design, both traditional and contemporary. This can include basement extensions and listed buildings or work in conservation areas. The projects are very appealing as they allow you to push design boundaries working with high budgets, producing fantastic bespoke architecture.
Reporting to and assisting the Technical Director you will be working from RIBA Stages 3 to 5, focusing on buildability and the delivery of projects. Due to the nature of their projects, technical solutions are bespoke and need considered design. You will be producing production information, construction packages and construction details and in addition undertaking research into products and building materials. The role will allow you to visit sites for condition surveys, progress and quality inspections. The main CAD tool you will be using is AutoCAD and proficiency is required however some larger projects require Revit and some experience with this package would be advantageous. 2D and 3D hand sketching skills for technical details will be highly advantageous. Other software you will be using are SketchUp, Photoshop and NBS.
