Infrastructure Solutions Architect - Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contracted hours: 37.5 hours
Contract type: Full time, permanent
Salary: Competitive & negotiable DOE
Location: 2 Godwin Street, Bradford, BD1 2ST
We are England's largest not for profit supplier of care homes, nursing homes, retirement villages and sheltered accommodation to the elderly. More than 10,000 people provide our services at over 1000 locations across England. With annual revenue in excess of £260m, Anchor Trust is a large organisation by any standards with a significant and diverse workforce.
To complement a period of growth within our IT department, we are seeking to recruit a number of talented IT specialists. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a company that has surged into the Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and has huge growth plans across IT.
This is a newly created role, along with 26 others, which will effectively double our IT capacity in the coming months. We are currently undertaking a huge number of enterprise-wide technology projects, and there'll be huge infrastructure changes in the next few years - from identity and data management to application rationalization and much, much more.
The main focus of this role is to take business requirements from the Business Systems Analysts and translate into designs for enterprise-wide solutions. Your solutions will take into account servers, storage, network transformation, databases, virtualisation, LAN/WAN, data centre, unified comms and everything else that falls under the infrastructure umbrella. This is a hands-off position that requires a strong infrastructure generalist; someone who might not understand the nitty gritty of every single technology or concept, but can ask the right questions.
We'll need to see a broad range and depth of IT infrastructure projects in your background ideally at Solutions Architect level, however if you've managed the 'run' environment as a Solutions Engineer and are looking to move into the design side of things, we definitely would like to hear from you.
Strong influencing skills are a must; you'll be adept at winning people over and bringing them onboard - this is business-facing position and you'll enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders. Soft skills are really important to us, so don't be afraid to show us your soft side or love of witty satire!
Ideally you'll be accredited in one of the enterprise architecture frameworks i.e. TOGAF, Zachman. What's more important to us is your experience - we want to see your battle scars much more than an accreditation. It's paramount that you have been used to handling multiple projects simultaneously and handling conflicting priorities.
Our benefits package includes a generous contributory pension scheme, discounted private health cover, life assurance policy, discounted retail and child care vouchers and the ability to buy and sell annual leave entitlement (25 days is our standard, rising to 30 over 5 years).
If you're motivated by making positive changes to an evolving business and feel excited at the prospect of joining us at this pivotal time, please apply now with an up-to-date CV at .
Recruitment agencies: please note that we do not recognise speculative CVs. Should you submit a speculative CV, we will assume the candidate as our own.
Salary: Highly Competitive. Date posted: 04/08/2016
