The company A vibrant, dynamic Main Contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects for a long list of blue-chip clients across the country. Their sterling reputation as a contractor has allowed them to branch out in to numerous markets including: Industrial, Student Accommodation, High-Rise Apartments,Commercial & Retail to name a few with project sizes ranging from £10m-£80m. They currently find themselves in an excellent position, having already secured over £300m worth of construction projects for 2018 and as a result of this are looking to bolster their commercial team. The company put relationships at the heart of everything that they do. This is reflected in the fact that they have used many of the same sub-contractors since their early days as a contractor and also enjoy an incredibly high-level of repeat business with clients that they have built solid professional relationships with. The role In your new role as Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report into and work closely with the lead QS out on site, on New Build commercial and student accommodation projects of values between £20-£60m. As the role progresses you will be given the opportunity to manage your own construction packages under the guidance and leadership of the lead QS. Typical roles and responsibilities can be found below… * Liaise with the site teams and take the lead with contract administration and record keeping * Identify opportunities to maximise cost/value management * Assist with the procurement and management of subcontract packages * Assist with the internal valuations/CVR/End Life Forecasts * Assist with preparation of contractual claims * Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications * Support the project team in all commercial matters Skills Ideally, you will have a Degree / HNC / HND or be working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction, with a similar background working for a Main Contractor or sub-contractor. You will have an eye for detail, an organised nature be motivated and ambitious. Benefits You will be given the opportunity to earn up to £35,000 per annum.
