The Project Manager takes responsibility for the delivery of complex IT projects within the financial services domain, covering areas such as digital transformation, customer engagement, risk and regulatory compliance. Successful candidates will provide project support for technical engagements, typically upwards of £1m in value. This is a commercial project management requirement that requires exceptional stakeholder management skills alongside technical project delivery capability.
Key responsibilities will include:
Acting as client interface between technology teams and the client
Providing pragmatic project management guidance to clients and colleagues
Managing all aspects of project delivery including project planning, resourcing, milestone tracking, commercial management and customer satisfaction
Acting to support multiple project resources
Supporting blended teams of colleagues, client and partner resources to share knowledge and develop an integrated delivery ethic.
We specifically seek a proven consulting professional with the background experience of enterprise scale project management within systems integration or management consulting organisations.
The foundation skills/experiences that will be likely to underpin future success are:
Full life cycle project management experience, from initial opportunity through to requirement development/definition, project mobilisation and commercial negotiation of change requests.
Proven commercial stakeholder management and client engagement skills
Strong experience in the management of risks, issues and dependencies for enterprise class engagements
Project Management experience within the context of technical solutions, typically of a software engineering nature
Significant experience of large scale projects within a consulting/professional services environment
Industry recognised Project Management skills and related certifications including Prince II, PMI, PMP
Experience in iterative project methodologies, such as Agile
Strong team leadership skills, especially in the context of large teams of consulting professionals
In addition to the above, the following background experience would be highly beneficial:
Consultancy/customer facing experiences within a software vendor or enterprise scale services environment
Financial Services domain knowledge with practical experience of mobilising technology to meet the market dynamics effecting the financial services domain (Risk/Cost/Customer)
Salary Offered: Basic Salary (£50k - £65k) +Bonus (20%)+Benefits
Travel profile: Candidates should be willing to work at client site (predominantly in Central London) in the interest of meeting with customers and collaborating with colleagues
